Do I have to be a member to come to church?
Everyone is welcome to come along to the Church and join in any of our activities.

Do you have to believe in God to come to Church?
No – both those who believe and those who are seeking God are very welcome.

What happens during the service?
People sing, pray, and listen to stories from the Bible.  
The minister also explains the relevance of the Christian faith in the life of today’s society.  
Any words you need are provided; you don’t need to bring a hymn book.

What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in.

Where should I sit?
Anywhere. There are no reserved seats, except for the minister and organist!
Most seats are downstairs but there are also some upstairs in the gallery.

Will I be able to wear a hearing aid?
Yes – there is an induction loop as well as loudspeakers to assist hearing.

What about a wheelchair?
There is disabled access, toilets and wheelchair space.

Can I bring children?
Children are very welcome .  
There is a Sunday Club at the service.

Most of our records are held in the archives of Scotland’s People.

When is the church open to look around?
The church usually open at the same time as the Garden Room Cafe.
For access at other times, please contact us.
Guided Tours telling the history of Duddingston Kirk are available by appointment.

When is the Garden Room open for refreshments?
Opening hours vary and they are listed on the Garden Room page.
